Bear Creek High School Bands

Bear Creek High School offers four academic bands.

Participation in Wind Ensemble or Jazz Band requires an audition with our director.
Auditions for are held the previous Spring and are open to any Bear Creek High School student that plays a band instrument.

Concert Band

The Concert Band meets both semesters. They perform in various concerts and contests during the school year. The Concert Band is open to any Bear Creek High School student who plays a wind or brass instrument. Students are eligible for Jeffco Honor and All State Concert Band.

Wind Ensemble

The Wind Ensemble (Concert Band/Winds) is an audition ensemble that meets during the Spring semester.

The Wind Ensemble performs at various concerts and contests throughout the Spring semester. Students are eligible for Jeffco Honor and All State.

Marching Band

The Marching Band is a co-curricular ensemble that meets during the Fall semester.
Participation in the marching band requires enrollment in this class (High School student musician only, guard & middle school marching band members are exempt)

Jazz Band

Jazz Band (Jazz/Contemporary Band) is a co-curricular course that meets both semesters and an audition or Director Recommendation is required to enroll. Traditional Big Band instrumentation is utilized which includes saxophones, trumpets, trombones, and rhythm section.

The Jazz Band performs in concerts, contests, and local gigs throughout the school year. Students learn to play many styles of jazz, rock, pop, and world music with focus on both notated music and improvisation. Students are eligible for Jeffco Honor Jazz Band and All State Jazz Band
