The Bear Creek High School Winter Percussion group is a competitive percussion ensemble that will perform at Rocky Mountain Percussion Association (RMPA) sanctioned compeititons. Our performances marry the elements of music performance, marching, and theatre in an indoor arena/gymnasium setting.
The BCHS Winter Percussion groups have been 11 time state champions, WGI National Finalists and have been selected to perform at the Music For All National Percussion Festival as one of the top 12 ensembles in the US. Season begins in January and the ensemble competes through April.

Audition is required. Auditions occur in mid-November.
All Bear Creek High School Students are eligible to audition for the Winter Percussion Ensemble.
Additionally, middle school performers who participated in the Grizzly Regiment Marching Band are also eligible to audition.

After school, from 3:30-5:45pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays, & Fridays (with certain exceptions noted in our handbook).
All members are held to strict standards of commitment, academic success, and professional attitude. Be prepared for participation in an accelerated, serious ensemble.
The BCHSPE won’t work without parent & volunteer help. Drive our kids, move performance equipment, or help with some of the other needs our group has in our quest to success. A competitive percussion ensemble program is no small feat! Each season, the Bear Creek Percussion Ensemble produces a musical program that is performed at multiple front-range Rocky Mountain Percussion Association (RMPA) sanctioned competitions beginning February and culminating with state finals in early April.
The costs associated offering such a program require that participants contribute a fee.

It it our priority that students wishing to participate in the program are able to, regardless of their household's financial means. Please contact our director if concerns about fees may preclude a student from participating.
