Jazz Band (Jazz/Contemporary Band) is a co-curricular course that meets both semesters and an audition or Director Recommendation is required to enroll. Traditional Big Band instrumentation is utilized which includes saxophones, trumpets, trombones, and rhythm section. The Jazz Band performs in concerts, contests, and local gigs throughout the school year. Students learn to play many styles of jazz, rock, pop, and world music with focus on both notated music and improvisation. Students are eligible for Jeffco Honor Jazz Band and All State Jazz Band.
