Today Is About Gifts, or TAG Day at Bear Creek High School was started by Ms. Ahmed in 2002 as a community fundraising opportunity for the Instrumental Music Program (IMP). All IMP students go out in uniform to the Bear Creek High School (BCHS) community to collect donations for our program. When TAG day originated, supporters received a “tag” or sticker, showing their support for the Bear Creek Instrumental Music Program.
Note: All instrumental music students are expected to participate in TAG DAY, it is a great way to bond with other musicians, earn lettering points and get credit for volunteer hours.
How can parents/guardians/grandparents help? Please share the TAG Day fundraiser link on Social Media and with you family, friends, and co-workers. https://www.mightycause.com/story/Zm53bf
WHY DO WE DO THIS?
Historically, the Bear Creek High School Music Program has consisted of as many as 200 students participating in Orchestra, Concert Band, Marching Band, Percussive Studies, Jazz Band, Winter Percussion Ensemble, Winter Guard and the school musical. These ensembles have a long history of excellence throughout the Jefferson County School District, the State of Colorado, and the nation.
School and district budgets only provide 11% of the amount needed to operate our current music program? All of the programs above must draw their resources from this budget. While it is unfortunate, the school budget is not sufficient for even the most basic expenses. Uniforms, instruments, instrument repairs, entrance fees, transportation, music rental, instructors and other items are all funded by parents and students in the Bear Creek High School Music Booster organization.
TAG DAY makes the music better for everyone in the program!
